what is femtalent?

What is it?

Femtalent is an initiative related to the equality of opportunities and management of feminine talent in the professional field that is developed in the framework of the Scientific and Technological Parks of Catalonia, promoted by the Xarxa de Parcs Cient�fics i Tecnol�gics de Catalunya (XPCAT), under the care of Barcelona Activa and the collaboration of Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Roca Salvatella, Hunivers and Invenio.

XPCAT is composed of 24 scientific and technological parks distributed all over the Catalan territory with more than 20 sectors of activity.

Fem.talent wishes to reach everybody, thanks to the impulse of the portal web www.femtalent.cat to more than 2,500 companies located in the parks and, therefore, to more than 65,000 workers.

Fem.talent is a project subsidised by the Ministry of Enterprise and Labour and the Service of Employment of Catalonia for the program of Innovative Projects and is co-financed by the European Social Fund.

Which are the aims of Fem.talent?

The 3 challenges of the future on which the actions of the project are designed, are:

  1.   Promotion of the Equality of Opportunities as a business strategy. This line includes actions addressed to companies to innovate and implement measures of TIME MANAGEMENT.
  2.   Foreseeing the development of women through connecting them to national and international subjects devoted to women in the environment of web 2.0. At the same time, it also promotes the Community Femtalent that involves transmitting FACE-TO-FACE MEETINGS and the FORUM in which the task done by Femtalent is shown to all the society together with the positioning of women that take part in the network.
  3.   The creation of a system which is able to transfer feminine talent based on three fields of performance:

  1. The incorporation of women to the sectors of science, technology and enterprise by means of the action of the Femtalent SCHOOL imparted to students of the primary school.
  2. The professional promotion of women in places of responsibility and to take decisions by means of the course "MANAGERIAL WOMEN IN COUNCILS OF ADMINISTRATION" imparted by EADA Business School.
  3. The horizontal progress of women from the science or technology fields to the enterprise fields with varied STUDIES that is now deeply felt by XPCAT and highlights issues such as CONCILIATION of labour and personal life.
